Maple Island Desk
This handcrafted desk combines artistry and craftsmanship in a design inspired by natural geography and the beauty of live-edge woodworking. Measuring 2 feet wide by 4 feet long, it features a vivid turquoise epoxy river flowing between two slabs of maple wood, with intricate “islands” set seamlessly into the surface.
Design & Materials
Top: Solid maple with live edges preserved to maintain natural contours.
Epoxy: Deep ocean-blue epoxy with subtle movement and depth, giving the appearance of flowing water.
Inlays: Two carved islands crafted from maple burl, resembling a topographic map or aerial coastline og Ireland and Britain.
Base: Sleek black steel legs offering modern contrast and strength.
